Accreditation Statement and Credit Designation

Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada

This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and approved by the Canadian Rheumatology Association. You may claim a maximum of 18 hours (credits are automatically calculated).

American Medical Association (AMA)

Through an agreement between the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert Royal College MOC credits to AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (UEMS/EACCME)

Live educational activities recognized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada as Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) are deemed by the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) eligible for ECMEC®.

To Receive Your CME/CPD Certificate   

The CME/CPD certificate will be available after completing the online evaluation and creditclaiming procedure. The process takes about 5 minutes. We thank you for your feedback as it is an important part of CME/CPD accreditation and helps improve future educational offerings.

Before 24 June 2025:

  1. Access the online system via the following link
  2. Complete the anonymous online evaluation
  3. Enter your username (conference registration email) and password (Registration ID) during the credit-claiming process
  4. Complete the credit claim form and submit
  • The CME/CPD certificate will be available for download and retained for your records.
  • Please note that web browsers Mozilla Firefox 2.X or higher, or Google Chrome are recommended. Mobile devices are not supported.
  • Kindly note that the LUPUS 2025 online evaluation will be active on the last day of the meeting. You will then be able to access it and claim your CME/CPD certificate. 

Educational Objectives

As a result of this educational activity, delegates will be able to:

  • Identify and analyze the latest research and advancements in the pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), including developments in precision medicine and AI-driven approaches.
  • Compare and contrast international treatment guidelines (EULAR, ACR, KDIGO) to optimize the management of lupus nephritis (LN) and improve clinical decision-making.
  • Assess the impact of emerging therapeutics, including novel biologics, small-molecule inhibitors, and cell-based therapies, in the management of SLE and its complications.
  • Interpret new findings in biomarkers, transcriptomics, and proteomics to facilitate earlier and more accurate diagnosis and monitoring of disease progression.
  • Examine the influence of comorbidities, mental health disorders, and socioeconomic determinants on lupus outcomes, and integrate holistic, patient-centered management approaches.
  • Evaluate the latest strategies for managing pregnancy, fertility, and reproductive health in patients with SLE to enhance maternal and fetal outcomes.
  • Recognize and mitigate medication-related toxicities, including hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) retinal, cardiac, and skin toxicity, to ensure safer long-term treatment adherence.
  • Explore new methodologies in clinical trial design that promote greater inclusivity, address heterogeneity in SLE, and improve patient recruitment and retention.
  • Foster interdisciplinary collaboration among rheumatologists, nephrologists, dermatologists, immunologists, neurologists, and allied healthcare professionals for a multisystem approach to SLE care.
  • Enhance professional competency in applying evidence-based treatment strategies to improve patient outcomes and quality of life in individuals with SLE.

The learning objectives for LUPUS 2025 are designed to enhance knowledge, improve clinical practice, and foster interdisciplinary collaboration in the field of systemic lupus erythematosus.
